The other day my wife was talking to my oldest daughter about the differences between optimism and pessimism. My son was there also, so she asked the two of them the old question, "is the glass half empty or half full?" My daughter responded that it is half full, (yay, an optimist). My son, (apparently neither optimist nor pessimist so much as an analyst), responded, "it depends on whether you're drinking from the glass or filling it up."
